AI-NaI Instrumental Analysis using NaI(Tl) Scintillation Spectrometer (No.6)
This manual provides an overview of the fundamental measurement principles and operational procedures for practitioners, including local governments, organizations engaged in agriculture, fisheries, and food-related activities, and nuclear operators who measure radioactive materials in environmental samples (including agricultural products and foods) using a NaI(Tl) scintillation spectrometer.
The analytical method covered in this manual uses a NaI detector to measure γ-ray spectrum, identify radionuclides contained in environmental samples, and quantify their radioactivities.
This method also includes a screening method, in which target nuclides(e.g., radioactive cesium) are limited, and the purpose is to determine whether the radioactivity in environmental samples exceeds a reference level.
